Peach Blossom Green Tea – Pusateri Tribute

Stephanie Pusateri was born with a genetic condition called Gardner’s Syndrome.  In 1998, by the age of 24, her condition lead to the removal of her large and small intestines, which caused damage to her kidney and an artery in her leg.  From 2000- 2006, she was fed nutrients through a large intravenous bag for 12 hours a day, daily, to sustain her life.  On April 17, 2006, she finally receivedthe call that saved her life.  She received a new liver, small intestine, stomach and pancreas through a multi visceral transplant surgery.  She is currently doing well, living each day one at a time to its fullest.  She truly needs financial help, in that the cost of Stephanie’s transplant surgery has exceeded her health insurance’s lifetime limit and there are many expenses she and her husband Nate encounter that are not covered by insurance – things most don’t even consider. Further, the cost of anti-rejection medications from post surgery cost over $25,000 monthly.

Stephanie works closely with Donate Life America.  Donate Life America, formerly the Coalition on Donation, was founded by the transplant community in 1992 to educate the public about organ, eye and tissue donation and avoid duplication of effort.
